“We have been using Kathy and her friendly staff for about 2 years and we absolutely love them! Our dog, Norman, is a bichon/shih tzu mix so his fur can get very unruly. They do an excellent job grooming him and each time, he comes out looking cuter than ever.

Not only does the experienced staff do a great job grooming Norman but he loves to see them when I bring him in. This is important to me because I know that when I leave him in Kathy’s hands, I don’t have to worry. Prior to finding Kathy, Norman would literally pull away from me on his leash and try to run the opposite direction as we approached the door of other grooming salons. Not the case with Bow Wow and Meow’s. He walks right through the door with me and is perfectly content.

I have tried other pet salons and I have yet to find one that does as superb a job as Bow Wow and Meow’s. Kathy and her courteous staff do such an amazing job that you and your pet will not leave unhappy.”

“I brought my Persian cat Dolce to get a lion cut at Bow Wow and Meow’s and he looks so cute. He was a giant puff ball, and despite my attempts at daily brushing, Dolce had lots of mats. Kathy scheduled me within 24hours. Dolce was very calm throughout the entire experience. Alex spoke so kindly to him while clipping his fur and nails. They left him with his beautiful mane, furry lower legs and a pretty flame on the end of his tail. Now he can keep himself nice and clean — which makes both of us happy. The groomers work out in the open — no taking your animal out of sight. The Meow part of Bow Wow and Meows is for real. These folks know kitties. I also watch two Shitzus being groomed – both came out beautifully and happy. If you love your animals, take them here.”

“We travel from Norristown to bring Shuga, our 7-year old standard poodle, to Bow Wow & Meow’s. Previously we had taken her to three other grooming salons in the Norristown area and, although Shuga is very sweet and compliant, she had negative experiences with all of them (ex. a cut on her paw, spending numerous hours in a crate waiting to be groomed, spoken to in a harsh voice); consequently, she was extremely frightened to be left at the groomers. When our daughter and son-in-law, who also have a standard poodle, moved to the Fairmount section of the city several years ago, they raved about Bow Wow and encouraged us to give them a try. It was really one of the best doggie care decisions that we could have made. Both Kathy and Amy are absolutely terrific with Shuga and miraculously, Shuga now loves to go to the groomers (no slinking with her tail between her legs and pulling back on the leash). As a matter of fact, when we tell her in the morning that she is going to see Kathy and Amy to get groomed, she wags her tail and eagerly trots out to the car. It is so worth the drive — Shuga is happy, she always looks absolutely beautiful and they pay special attention to her problem ears. Kathy is also more than willing to accomodate our schedule. Plus the location is very convenient — within walking distance of the Phila Art Museum and many interesting restaurants. And best of all, Bow Wow has treats not only for the doggies for also for the chocoholic customers — my husband is often so busy deciding which treat(s) he should select for himself that he ignores Shuga, who is patiently waiting for her reward. Try it — your doggie will thank you.”

“My husband and I used to live around the corner from the shop, a year and a half ago we bought a house in the suburbs. We have tried roughly about 3 different grooming establishes near our home- no one comes close!!!! After many SCRAY experiences at the grooming shops near our home…enough was enough, we needed BOW WOW! Today I gladly made the 45 minute drive into and out of the city to bring our two Pomeranians and lab/hound mix to the spa. Kathy takes such good care of them!!! They always come out looking super adorable (and smelling WONDERFUL). She is always sure to specify EXACTLY what you want done in the grooming process. I always feel comfortable leaving them with Kathy which is one of the best parts!! I know they are safe, well cared for, and having an enjoyable grooming experience. I have a VERY hectic work schedule and she is always FABULOUS getting them in sometimes the same day or with a days notice!!! You can see the dogs being groomed from the waiting area…they are not taken to some back room like some places. If you are like me, my dogs are like my children….and you wouldn’t leave your children with anything than the best, right?! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her prices are also very reasonable.”
